FAURBY ERNST
Family Architecture

The human system behind everything a family builds, deserves to be designed — not left to chance.

A confidential practice for families, and the family offices that serve them, who want roles, culture and continuity to be as deliberate as everything else they've built.

Is this for you?
OUR APPROACH

Human Systems Architecture

Our thesis is direct: a family's vision endures only through what we call its relational inheritance — the roles, culture and unspoken agreements passed from one generation to the next. Secure that, and the financial and cultural inheritance follow. Leave it to chance, and no amount of capital protects what the family actually built.

We start from the belief that every member of a family can contribute — each with their own potential, responsibility and role within the whole. Our work is to make that structure deliberate rather than accidental, so no one's role is left undefined, and no one is reduced to a single function within the system.

Continuity, stewardship and culture are not soft additions to a family's legacy — they are the mechanism that carries it across generations. Our discipline, Human Systems Architecture, and our method, Maestro, exist to design and maintain that mechanism deliberately, not leave it to circumstance.

We also work directly with the people closest to the family — its employees and advisers — so that everyone operating around the family shares the same understanding of its vision, instead of each interpreting it differently.

This is not wealth management, legal advice, investment advice, or therapy. It is the architecture of the human system that holds a family together — across generations, and across everything else the family owns or builds. Every engagement is confidential and covered by NDA as standard.

FOUNDERS

Faurby Ernst was founded by two family systems architects

AS

Ann-Sophie Heinfelt Ernst-Rasmussen

Co-Founder & Family Systems Architect

A financial legacy is only as durable as the relational legacy that carries it.

Together with each family, Ann-Sophie designs a Family Architecture based on the family’s own intentions, culture and ambitions. The architecture creates the conditions for people to participate, develop their capabilities and carry responsibility. The aim is a self-sustaining system in which stewardship can grow and continuity can be maintained and renewed across generations.

Ann-Sophie brings more than 25 years of experience in leadership, advisory work and complex human systems. She holds a Master of Science in Public Health, with academic work in predictive modelling and mental well-being, and connects relational insight with strategy, governance and implementation.

DM

Ditte Marie Faurby Loundens

Co-Founder & Family Systems Architect

Human development is not primarily a matter of instruction or control — it is shaped by the conditions, relationships and communities people take part in.

Ditte works as a systemic architect, examining the structures and assumptions that produce a family’s patterns, not only the symptoms on the surface. She co-created Family Architecture and its sister discipline, Learning Architecture, around this same premise — building disciplines, not quick-fix methods, that turn philosophy into something families can actually live by. Her focus is not control but design: creating the conditions in which trust, participation and responsibility can develop naturally, and be sustained across generations.

Ditte works systemically and long-term, returning again and again to one question — what conditions produce this outcome — and refining her models until they are simple, coherent and precise. Her recurring themes are trust, responsibility, participation, belonging, stewardship and continuity.

A FEW QUESTIONS

Is this the right conversation for you?

A few short, direct questions to see whether we're likely the right fit — for your family, or for the families you already work with.

FAMILY

There's real, addressable work to do here — before it becomes urgent.

Most families only discover unclear roles, unspoken values, or an imbalance between individual and collective at the worst possible moment — when a role suddenly needs filling, or a generation quietly disengages. Nothing you've described is unusual. Building a family's culture, stewardship and continuity deliberately — rather than by default — is exactly the work we do.

OUR CONCLUSION

A confidential first conversation would be a well-placed next step — no proposal, no obligation, just a candid look at where roles, values and continuity currently stand in your family.

FAMILY

You have more in place than most families we meet.

Clear roles, shared values, and room for each person's own authenticity within the collective — that's rare, and worth protecting deliberately rather than assuming it holds on its own. Even families with a strong foundation find real value in an outside, senior perspective — someone whose only job is to pressure-test the relational side.

OUR CONCLUSION

A short, confidential conversation is unlikely to uncover urgent problems — but it's a low-cost way to confirm that your family's culture and stewardship will hold as it's tested by time and generational change.

FAMILY OFFICE

Introducing a relational specialist here would likely strengthen the relationship, not dilute it.

When the emotional and generational side of a client relationship stalls, it reflects on the whole office — even when it isn't a governance or investment question. Bringing in a discreet, NDA-bound specialist for that specific piece is something clients tend to remember well, not question.

OUR CONCLUSION

Introducing us costs you nothing to explore, and positions your office as the one that thought of it. A short, confidential conversation is the natural next step.

FAMILY OFFICE

You may already have this well in hand.

Not every client needs a specialist for the relational side, and it sounds like your office already covers most of that ground. Even so, most offices we work with keep us in reserve for the specific cases where it isn't — a second generation not speaking, a succession nobody wants to raise first.

OUR CONCLUSION

Worth a short, confidential conversation — not to change what's working, but to have a trusted option ready for the cases where it isn't.
